Soon the days will be far to many to count! Being in a course which is allocated 6 exciting years before graduation i have a big journey ahead each day of the 2141 days - the end of 2014 - that i have to become a doctor will be both challenging and exciting!
Trinity college, one of the 5 colleges of the university of western australia is in my and all other residents opinions the greatest and certainly has the mightiest reputation of all! From the very start all new residents were welcomed to a group of awesome 2nd right to 6th year resident organisers who showed us the ropes and helped us break the ice between not knowing who each other was. The one thing to remember is that we are all in the same boat therefore we all have something in common already!
Our first week at college is orientation week! We are the fallout members of the vault. The outside world is full of poisionous radiation, we are the only survivers kept alive in trinity, and if the radiation alarm sounds, we must run to the nearest person/people in sight and hug them for our life before the army of water pistoled radiator detectors squirt us clean! Which they tend to do anyway :)
Our first day in the vault found us taking on a variety of ice breaker games. From sitting on each other in a circle, passing lifesavers in toothpicks in our mouths, jumping on guys in more ways than one as musical chairs and even dancing our trinity dance, i would of driven up from bunbury just to be involved for the day!
That sunday night we ceaned ourselves up for a round of speed dating. Even though some put on a disguise to introduce their creative side, it was a great and entertaining way to meet a whole new bunch of awesome people!
The food at trinity is simply too good. Its day 5 at trinity and already i'm making myself be warey of the 'fresher 5' kilos that has been rumoured to come upon new residents. Basicalyy your three meals a day have at least a choice of 2 usually 3 dishes. Breakfast has hot food, eggs, bacon, pancakes, beans then there's the cereals, friut and yoghurt or the toasts, muffins and crumpets! And thats just breakfast! Good thing uni and college sports start soon thats all i can say. But really i am itching to get involved in it all! Medicine first but i am a big believer that hard study must be accompanied with hard, easy, fast, slow, all types of sport! It's freedom, takes away your stresses and makes you feel 100% better!
I love my room, up on the top floor of Durrow wing i have a great view although it can get pretty hot in summer, but the wooden walls remind me of the country and give a 'homey' feeling, even with a large pet spider i hope has ventured through the roof to be anothers friend. There is still more decorating to be done, but for now it still fits really nicely :)
The first night was hard to adapt to as expected, not to mention with so much happening your mind doesn't know whether to turn off or be anxiously excited! But being my 5th night tonight and after two late night parties in a row i am well ready for bed and hopefully a nice run in the morning tp start off day 6 of college! Hopefully this will help with what i miss telling you the times i miss your calls. I will catch up on what we have done mum, dad, nic and sarah, promise :)
Miss you all
xx
