The last week of Orthopedics was a little of a blur, a whirlwind of study for the exam on Friday as well as completing our log book. On Monday Em and I went into the hospital and after much patience we found some lovely patients who were willing to talk to us and we completed our log book finally! It was a shame to have to leave the hospital and our ortho team who were so keen for us to get lots of practical experience for exam study. We spent the rest of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and half of Thursday studying. I have to admit it was actually nice to just sit and study and not rush around the hospitals finding patients to examine, and cup of tea over study does wonders! I was able to have a quick but nice catch up with lex over lunch and a coffee date with Kyle. Wednesday was Emma's 22nd Birthday and i surprised her with a little birthday banner and gift to come back from breakfast from! Unfortunately she had clinic and lectures all day, if only our birthdays could always be on weekends.
By the time Friday came and the exam i was ready to have a break. The exam itself was not as bad as i thought it would be and i felt like i prepared well for it and was thankful for it to be over! Friday night Emma had a dinner at the Byrneleigh with some friends from medicine and Trinity, it was so nice to catch up with some people we haven't seen for a while and to talk to our med peers outside of the hospital! While they went out into the city for a night of dancing, fun and drinks i drove home with my thermos and a nice cup of tea. I didn't get home until 11pm but it was so nice to be home and to finally breathe with a week break :)
I wasn't home long, Saturday morning mum, dad and i left to go to Denmark! I didn't get there last week break so was looking forward to a little trip down with Kyle and his family. Mum and dad had not met his parents so i was also looking forward to that and showing mum and dad around in a short space of time. The car trip itself was really good, i finally got to hear lots of stories of their Europe holiday! 4 and a half hours worth and it made me want to go travelling :) It sounded like they all had a wonderful time in everyplace they went to! I was a little car sick so the stories were a good distraction too.
We arrived in Denmark at 2pm and settled mum and dad into their pretty little hotel next to the Denmark Tavern. Then we went to Single file winery and had a tea and cake! There was a lovely Cherry blossom tree with Geese and a pond in the background, it was a beautiful day!

We then made our way to Ocean Beach for a nice stroll along the water and found the lookout, i couldn't resist a jump which mum managed to capture in the fresh air!

| And some Yoga?? |
That night we met up at Willoughby restaurant and had a lovely dinner with Kyle and his parents! It was so nice for them to meet and they all got a long really well, everyone had a nice time :) I stayed at Kyle's while mum and dad were at the hotel. On Sunday they came to visit their house and horses before we made our way out to the Cheese factory for an early lunch! I love this place :)

We then made our way to the Honey Meadery with delicious honey, ice cream and mead! It is so nice warmed up on a cold day, one of the few alcoholic drinks i actually like...
Then mum and dad set off back home and i stayed a few more night with Kyle and his family. The rest of the day we watched a movie and Olympics and played some card games with Robyn, such a nice way to relax :) Monday Kyle and i climbed Monkey Rock with a wondeful view of Denmark and Ocean beach!

We also had a challenge of making Beetroot Gnocchi! I think we cooked the potatoes a different way and made it too moist so the gnocchi kind of went like play dough... but still turned out quite tasty with a yum basil and pine nut dressing!

Unfortunately Kyle wasn't feeling the best and had an early night while i stayed up excitedly with Robyn and watched the Olympic closing ceremony until midnight after we saw the Spice Girls!! It bought back lots of fond memories with Kelsie, Teagan, Nicole, Sarah and I and was sad to see the Olympics end so quickly. 4 years until Rio and i hope to have a trip there to see it live!! And before i knew it is was back on the bus back to Bunbury but had never felt to ready to relax and recuperate at home with the family :)
